COLT POLICE .38SPL
These things are beautiful, and are exactly what I am looking for for a first handgun. Now, I can already hear people saying:
"B-b-but... you should get a semi automatic if you want to defend yourself!!!!
GO FUCK YOURSELF!
Revolvers are extremely reliable and effective. You don't have to worry about jams with these unless some part in the gun is super bent, and it doesn't eject the shell casings (which is helpful!)
M1 (and M2) CARBINE 7.62x33mm
I haven't shot one of these (yet!) but god damn are they cool.
I plan on getting one of these someday. Aside from their looks, the M1 is known for it's power. The .30 cartridge (the rifle also fits 7.62mm, it's on the header due to it's status as a common cartridge) is TWICE! as powerful as the .45ACP cartridge.
Everyone likes to stroke the .45ACP round, but personally, I don't see the appeal. I think it's a bit too powerful of a round for a common handgun, but this section isnt about this.
As for the M2, the difference is in the firing modes. The M2 is capable of firing in full as well as semi automatic fire.
FUN FACT: It is federally legal to own a fully automatic weapon in the United States, as long as it is produced before 1986.
